Networking is an opportunity for you to say HELLO:
1. Help: ask the other person how you can possibly help them answer a question or even solve a problem for them.
2. Educate: don’t sell—rather educate others about your profession because in the process you just may be offering them a solution to their problem(s). 3. Listen: listen so you can learn more about how you can help the other person.
4. Laugh: remember that you “get to” to go meet other professionals and that you do not “have to”. A positive mindset is everything. Therefore, laugh and be happy.
5. Offer: offer your new contact your genuine friendship and opportunity to stay connected.
