After graduating from law school and then entering the legal/business world, the thing that surprised me the most that I did not know was the importance of being able to properly communicate with others—clients, opposing counsel/judge, co-employees, business owners, and others.
My good friend Warren Buffett once said that one of the most important and often overlooked keys to success is to learn how to effectively communicate and that your results in life will be magnified if you can communicate them better.
Hopefully this blog post that I just now wrote effectively communicates to you the importance of being able to talk to people. Empathy is another important component that you need to weave into your communication skills but this is a subject that I will write about later.
